10/28 - Sam had dropped off a pile of firewood near the Vermont house. Beautiful day and we were in the house with guests. A giant lizard, like a komodo dragon, crawled out of the trunk such that the large trunk lying on the grass was actually just a hollow tube of bark. Then all the trunks became hollow tube nests with giant snakes crawling out. They crawled up to the house and we looked out as they approached. Suddenly I see that I had left one window open and a big snake with slithering through. Then another animal was coming in through the door, as though we had a doggie door.
